Acid Dissolves Some Solids, Not All

You'll learnwhy lowering the pH dissolves a salt whose anion is basic, and why it does nothing at all to a salt whose anion came from a strong acid.

Drop the pH of a saturated fluoride solution and the undissolved solid starts to disappear. Do the same to a saturated chloride and nothing happens. Twelve short steps; press Next for each one.

What you're looking at
Two saturated beakers, each with undissolved solid on the floor and its dissolved ions above it.
The question
The same acid goes into both, so why does only one of the solids dissolve further?
