One Reaction, Three Views
Write 2H2 + O2 → 2H2O. Draw the molecules coming apart and going back together. Describe the pop, the warmth, the mist on the glass. Those are three representations of one event, and they are not allowed to disagree. The drawing is where the disagreement starts — because a drawing lets you put anything you like on the product side, and the most common thing students put there is an atom that was never on the reactant side.
