Static Friction Has a Ceiling, Not a Value
Kinetic friction is a flat rate: μₖ·N against the slide, the same at any speed. Static friction is a matcher: it answers your push newton for newton, tops out at μₛ·N, and then the surface lets go — with a visible drop.
